Either can sound just as good depending on you musical tastes. I am striving for a perfect translation of the original recording and used a sealed box sized according to my Subwoofer's specs. A well tuned ported enclosure can sound very nice too though. However if you just pop a couple tubes in a box with out tunig it the the sub's T/S parameters it can sound like a hippo fart, as can a sealed enclosure built too small.
