Barriers that have been noted:
1. Center tunnel too small (fab it!)
2. Gas tank, etc in the way (can you say, "racing fuel cell?"
3. Engine bay too short (more fab work!)
Of course it's possible. All you have to do is watch Monster Garage to know that.
Practical? Easy? Cheap? No.
Worth it? That's up to you, but I'd say the Contour is one of the best-balanced, best-handling FWDs out there, and the payoff would be minimal.
