A show quality CF hood has the weave pattern and means it is clear coated. A non-show quality CF hood would look about like unpainted fiberglass (i.e. crappy). If I were you, I'd get the CF hood, the weight difference is minimal, but they're cooler.
Everyone so far really likes the look of my hood.
