And, as I mentioned in that thread, their letter whitewashed the situation. The impression I got was that unless there are obvious bare wires under the hood, nothing is wrong. Did that guy really think that the dealer was going to tell me that the harnesses needed to be replaced when nothing was obviously wrong?
I'm sure that, had I made enough noise, I could have gotten them to replace the harnesses, but I thought only some cars were built with the wrong insulation, not all of them, and the assumption I made was that if the harness wasn't cracking it was going to be fine.
WRONG. My '96 doesn't have any obvious cracking, but I'm going to raise hell with the dealer until they replace the harnesses on it.
