Known differences between the '96 and '95 harnesses:
1)IAC has different connector (old style IAC has the standard Ford IAC connector as used on most other pre '95 Ford cars)
A pigtail for the old style connector is available from NAPA for around $5, or snip one off a car at the u-pull-it yard as I did.
2)TPS has different connector. I'm pretty sure the '95 used the same connector as other pre '95 Ford cars. I think a pigtail for this is also available from NAPA. If not, replacing the TPS is pretty easy and it's a cheap $20 part if the resistance specs are the same (I'd bet money that they are, Ford doesn't like to change things like that)
3)IMRC is different. Should be easy to fix as mentioned. Pigtail is probably also available for this one too.
Unknowns:
Coolant temperature sensor [a pigtail for this one is probably also available, but replacing it with the '96 sensor is probably easier and the resistance specs are probably the same, can be confirmed with ohmmeter though], crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor connector, oil pressure sensor.
Things I know are the same:
O2 sensor connector, coil pack connector, fuel injector connectors (the biggie).
Doesn't look like there's a whole heck of a lot of difference between the '95 and '96 harnesses. If the pinouts of the 12-position connectors are wrong it's pretty easy to rearrange the pins.
How much cheaper is the '96 harness? If it's cheap enough it might be worth spending an hour and $20 to reconfigure it for a '95.... if I end up doing this, I will of course provide a write-up with detailed instructions and parts sources
