I am thinking of having some cup holders made, I have a father-inlaw and a brother-inlaw that both do mold making and injetion molding. was thinking of some thing that sits on top of the atx console in the same location as the stock holders but that are permanent on top. is anybody else out there interested. I would make the cup large enough to hold a big gulp 44oz. cup.

I dunno about holding a Big-Gulp, but I just got the Ford cup holder (XS2Z-5413562-BAA) and I love it! The ones that came with my SVT sucked a$$. The Ford one that I just got at least will hold my coffee cup on the morning commuite.

They look 100% stock. I believe they were orginal equiptment on the pre-98 Contours. For some reason, my brother in law's 2000 CSVT had this part on it already. It's the same part # that I just got. They look like the factory one's, just a little taller.

I have used mine every morning with a 20oz. coffee and have so far never had a single problem.

My 'tour came with that black insert when I got it used. I don't know if it was stock or someone added it. It is held down with velcro, is that stock? I've been happy with it, the only down fall is sometimes you have to angle a cup funny to get it in there, so without a lit it can be bad. The right side holder seemes to be bigger, so I can get the big cups in there. I just drove about 1,000 miles in the last couple days and I've had 12 oz. bottles (new Coke products), those skinny bottle waters, small McD's coffee, medium KFC, and a venti Starbuks, so I've covered most things. TacoBell cups can be tricky, but doable. $.02

Damn straight! I've never seen a picture of the "cup holder fix" and I must say, it looks damn sexy. Whe someone finnaly buys my freakin pre-98 console with custom dash ... I'll be all up on that!

Pre-98? That would not fit on my console...
