is this your stumbling block to christianity? unfortunately there are as you describe "cultural" christians. we should definately be leading by example. there are many devoted christians who truly give their life to christ and allow god to guide them. i think one of the main causes of athesism is ignorance. if someone has the courage to truly investigate the merits of the bible they will see there is only one logical conclusion, that Jesus is who he claimed to be. two excellent books i'd encourage you to read are "the case for christ" and "the case for faith" by Lee Strobel. check out some of your local churches and meet some true christians. i guarantee your view of life will never be the same.
you should be able to trace the speaker leads from the back of your deck to the amp. maybe you don't have an amp?
