Well, I will see if they fix it this time, but I am tired of dealing with them over this little leak.

gsxr907 is right. Go to a different shop. I wouldn't have used AAMCO in the first place but since you did, you really don't have alot of choices. Sounds like the one you're using is not the one to go to---especially after 5 times. Give another set of monkeys the chance, afterall, that's why you went to AAMCO in the first place. And don't give the new guys grief cause your problem is not their fault--at least not yet.

Renee, if they don't get it right in the next visit, consider writing a polite but firm letter to the Better Business Bureau in your area. A lot of times, pressure from the BBB will "wake up" a lot of places like AAMCO. If nothing else, a letter of complaint on file with the BBB could help steer future customers away from AAMCO.

If they won't honor their warranty and fix the problem within a reasonable # of attempts I'd recommend getting an estimate from a good independent repair shop and then suing AAMCO in small claims court for the cost of the repair, since they either won't or can't repair your car.
Good luck,
Scott

You have the paperwork from the rebuild, but perhaps more importantly, do you have any paperwork from the times you brought it into service.
If you can prove that you've brought it in 5 times for service, than I would take them to small-claims and get all the money back with the exception of the part value, plus the value of any time of from work, rental cars, etc.
If you've given them 5 tries to fix it, you have, in good faith, allowed them the opportunity to fix their mistake.
Just because someone has a warranty on something does not give them the right to have it constantly break and require you to continually allow them to fix the problem.
As it stands, not only do you have no reason to believe they will fix the problem anytime soon, you have no reason to believe the problem will be fixed when your warranty expires. They've essentially not completed the work they said they would. You still have a broken transmission and that's NOT what you paid $3000 for.
It doesn't matter if the warranty is expired. They showed that they were never able to satisfactorily repair your transmission, meaning they never fulfilled their end of the deal.
If you have paperwork showing 5 visits, screw the whole corporate complain thing and just take them to Small Claims. If they're a franchise, the dealer will lose. If they're a company-owned location, they'll settle with you.

First off, the tranny holds x amount of fluid. If you overfill it, there is a relief valve/port that will bleed off the excess fluid & it looks just like a tranny leak. Don't ask me how I know that. Shut up I say!! If you in fact have a leak, screw the BBB. There is one word & one word only that will get them in gear (pun intended) & fix your tranny or buy you a new HD one. Press. Contact your local newspaper or TV station that has a consumer advocate like "ACTION TEAM 5" or whatever. They'll stick a mic or camera in their faces & whoa! You've got a tranny quicker than you can hang up your keys. If they accomodate you as I expect they will, ask for a heavy duty tranny like in the Escape (if it's compatible) and a freebie external cooler to keep it running forever. They'll do it just to look good to the press. Don't let them bully you or take advantage. You're in the right after 5 trips. But do be absolutely CERTAIN of your FACTS. Double, even triple check that fluid level & be certain it's not overfilled.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

was thinking of some ways to make money: go to tradeschool and take up automatic transmission repairs... should not take longer than 4-6 months.. then get a shop.. hire about 4-5 $6.00 hr. guys to pull the transmissions out and i fix them or even hire a $10.00 hr. jackleg mechanic and tell him what has to be done... the labor charges should be about $80-$100 per hr... on each vehicle.. the parts ????? can be very little to over $200 for parts/junkyard stuff and gasket set... make alot of money.. if it does not work out and get too many people coming back in then sell warranties for an extra $500-$800 and let someone other than me worry about them coming back... this is how most of these places work.. the transmission is a little too hard for the average shade tree mechanic to do so they bring it to a shop.. unlike brakes and other engine repair there are shops all over the place that do brakes, even muffler shops do it now.... figured that in a year or two that the profits would have easily bought the shop from the person who owns the property..... something to think about...... when you pay $2500 to $3000 for a transmission repair you better going to the dealer as he is not as likely to move out next year.. he has got other things going for him at this locations and will be there for the long haul.....
