The 6 represents keeping my place in the world. It's a great car that I love dearly, but is equivalent to my SVT. The TL represents a big step up in the world in every way. If the rear seat folded, the car would be perfect.

I would definitely agree with this statement.

I probably would not recommend the 6 to an SVT owner that was looking to "step up in the world".

It's a little bit faster, and a little bit nimbler, and quite a bit more luxurious, but nothing that's a huge step-up.

It's probably as good of a replacement for an SVT as you're going to find on the market right now.

But, unless you're someone that got a pretty significant pay raise since you bought the SVT, you're probably not in the market for a TL. It's definetly an all-around step-up -- and priced accordingly.

And that is why the Mazda6Club Forums are FULL of former SVT and SHO owners.

That's what I was wondering. They seem, I dunno, small for 19s.

Sigma, what do you think bluetooth is?..I saw you mention ecu pcm with a palm pilot? The 2004 Acura TL is the first car ever sold in the US with bluetooth technology built-in. Also the first car ever to have DVD-Audio 8 speaker surround sound.

the TL is a lot bigger interior wise than the svt, I cant remember the interior dimensions of the 6 but I compared it to the contour.

The wheels are 40 offset 19x8..the wheels look small in the pic but look much better in person..the car not being dropped effects the illusion as well.

Bluetooth is a low-range wireless technology, integrated into a lot of PCs and peripheral devices.

While I'm not sure what the Bluetooth does in the TL, I assume it ties your Bluetooth enabled PDA into your Cars integrated cellphone and navigation system.

Personally seems kinda useless to me; but to each their own. I refuse to talk on the phone while driving, and I don't use a navigation system. If I did either, it may be useful to have them integrated into my PDA.

I've got a Bluetooth system integrated into my Mazda6 that allows me to wirelessly access all systems accessible via a CAN port (which is a LOT) in real-time via my HP-1945 iPAQ. As it is now, it only scans. With a software upgrade in the works right now it will essentially allow you to tune your car wirelessly via your PDA.

Yeah, the TL is bigger than the SVT, but it's exactly the same as the 6.

Comparatively the 6 is quite a big bigger on the inside than the SVT is, so it follows that the TL being the same size as the 6, is bigger than the SVT as well.

A Contour is actually a lot smaller than most realize. A Mazda3 has the same interior dimensions as a Contour does.

The TL has bluetooth the enables a bluetooth enabled cell phone to pick up calls... you can take calls through the TL sound system.. it is very useful. When a call comes in it automatically mutes everything and you can hear the person through the TL's sound system. It also has a display with caller id etc and additional informations. you speak handsfree which is a lot safer, in the TL it has nothing to do with a pda or laptop, it is for cell phones..i know its the same technology but it works with cell phones..

That's pretty cool that it mutes everything and displays Caller ID. But that would require a Bluetooth enabled Cellphone to work... How many of those are out there?

Good choice. Congrats on your purchase and I'm glad to see the CSVT is still around. I'm actually thinking about the G35 towards the end of the year but I'll have to pay close attention to the interior after hearing what you said. Good luck with the new ride.
