Actually, directional performance is very possible. You don't even need to be confused about the way it works with silver/copper/etc. High-Powered RF radars use a device called a "waveguide" and a "multiplexer". They are hollow, rectangle pieces of copper(like a copper tunnel) that the wave travels down. It is possible to make the RF wave travel across the multiplexer in one direction, but be diverted to another path in the other direction... Now THAT tripped me out, when I first learned of it..
