This is how I took care of that problem. I made a template of the original 5x7 and cut a hole in the center for the 6 1/2. Then I used some metal strapping (covered with Black Electrical tape) to mount the tweeter. I bent the strapping to the contour of the woofer and made sure that the full excursion of the woofer would not impact the tweeter. I know this is somewhat of a ghetto way of doing it, but it was better than the alternatives. I have seen some people with power windows use the hole for the manual windows to mount the tweeters. Although this looks good, your sound stage is completly ruined negating why you put better speakers in to begin with.
