hey folks, found somthing cool and would like to share. while I was at the paint supply store getting sand paper for my headlight cleaning I picked up some polish for my wife's car. after spending an hour and a half cleaning a lens with sand paper I tried the polish and in 45 minutes I cleaned the light I started on and the other. now I can see the light on the road the polish is Ardex 4225 smart cut and cost $9 US. followed that up with some finer polish/wax and the lights look allmost brand new.
you dont need sandpaper, and for $1.79 for a can of Turtle Wax Polishing Compound you could do the samething.. thats what i use and it only takes about 1/10 or less of the can with a wet face cloth and about 15 minutes of time.. turns a yellow lense to a glass like clear lens..... why waste your time with sandpaper... you dont need that much of a grit to get the yellow off....

Do you use paste or liquid?
I tried the paste once, worked for about 4 months. I still ended up sanding mine.

dbird, I don't konw how bad your lenses were but mine were two warm yellow glows on nthe front of the car. if the polish didn't work I was going to buy some new ones from some where because there just wasn't any light comming out of them.
My car was in an accident and the new headlight they put on is clearer then the other...I want to make the other one clear too but am afraid to sand it cause I am worried I am gonna mess it up. Hopefully this polishing compound works. Now I won't have to worry about messing it up.
