Newbie user here. I bought a 98 Conour Sport SE with Duratech 2.5L in Jan. '04.
Been browsing this forum ever since.
I've done a search on re-contenting the lighted keyhole from the 95's. I see a few questions regarding this but has anyone actually accomplished it and if so how easy is it to do.

My 95 GL has no lights there

look at the ring around the keyhole and if you lighted key hole ring you notice an opaque or clearish inner ring. if you have the ring but nothing lights up when you lift the door handle, than you probably have a burnt out bulb.

Do the rest of the interior lights work when you do that?

I am working on this, and will hopefully have it done in my LED tutorial. This is what I have found, the piece on the pre98 cars had a clear plastic ring, that lit up. post97 contours, have a black ring, that is impossible to light up. You have to go to the junk yard and take apart the pieces and do it. Its not fun work at all.

I seriously have never seen this on my fully loaded 96  Was this an exclusive item for the 95's?

My 96 LX (loaded LX was actually an LX) had it..
Was actually kinda nice..
Pull the handle and the ring lit up... greenish color, IIRC..

Yep it's green and on my 96 GL.

My '95LX has it, but it's more amber than green, IIRC. It's a nice touch.
