I still have the plastic shield.
Mine only seems to heat up(according to the temp gauge) when I'm at idle. Once I start moving, the gauge goes back down to M.
I'm starting to wonder maybe it's the tranny fluid(Auto) getting very hot at idle and possibley heating up the radiator/water/antifreeze ?
I did do the semi-tranny fluid flush, using 12 quarts just incase to help but really didn't help but at least I know the tranny has some good fluid now.
(Semi-tranny fluid flush = Pouring in 4 quarts at a time, drive 100+ miles, drain, 4 more quarts, drain and 4 more quarts.)
