What is this tool from autozone you speak of?

Yeah, you need something to lock both cams, the crank pulley isn't gonna turn if both cams are locked.

Yeah, it is a good idea to replace the tensioner, as well as the idler pulleys.

Yes, they have many people have posted saying it happened to them.

This tool from Autozone I speak of, they do have that at the one near my hosue to rent out.

No they haven't... show me the posts and I'll shut up.

I haven't seen this on autozone tools to rent list... Could you get me the name or whatever for it,, it might be useful if I ever have to do a rebuild or something.

All this info is great, but what about the source of my problems? Issue number 1, the very first post in this thread. I still cannot figure out why the belt moved to the very back of the pulleys. I had everything aligned correctly in respect to camshaft vs. crankshaft (remember it ran like a sewing machine). Could one of the tensioner pulleys for the timing belt be a little off kilter and have pushed the timing belt back? I am having fits trying to figure this one out. Thanks for all the great info already.

Most likely the tensioner and/or idler pulleys.

You are correct Kermit it was the tensioner pulley. I also want to add my 2 cents to the interference vs. non-interference debate. I had NO DAMMAGE AT ALL when my timing belt snapped last week. Thanks for all the help everybody.
