While going over my car and checking fluids, I noticed the power steering fluid looked grungy (a V6 w/79k Miles). So today I did the oil and filter change, radiator flush and fill, and Power Steering Flush and filling with two quarts of AMSOIL Synthetic ATF fluid and was I surprised with the results.

I have for years suffered, from a pull to the left on the steering. I had done the usual things to correct the problem; constant front end alignments, different tire combinations, checked the tire air pressure, and had the front end gone over for worn parts. Nothing helped until I did today's power steering flush.

When I first got in after the flush, I thought the steering was crisper than usual. But hew, you know you always want the car to do better after you work on it. Then I went for the freeway and it was like it was new again, with smooth steering and THE PULL to the left, GONE.

This is one of the best "mods" I've done to the car and cheapest, too.

Granted its easier to access on the Zetec, but when I did my PS fluid change I was pulling the feed line from the pump. This emptied the PS resivous and the big line running to it. My fluid was quite bad when I did it, and five quarts of M1 ($2/qt so it didnt matter as much) later it was red again.

It also lost its factory cooler in favor of a small stacked plate design cooler that is now mounted behind the upper grille.

I agree with Froge, one of the best things that I have ever done to the car.
