Jay, Rt.3 runs parallel to 93 (N-S), but Elky is off 93. In order to avoid the contruction on 290 you should go mass pike to 495N to 93N. The mass pike isn't that much longer than 290, in fact I sometimes go that way if I want to avoid Worcester traffic. You take the Everette turnpike when you come to NH.
