Hey guys,

I've installed a set of Pioneer 6x8s in my front doors and I keep losing the connection to them when the windows go all the way down. I've gone as far as using electrical tape to tape down the excess wire to the speaker magnet...that worked for 2 days, now it's down again after I put my window down all the way in the drive-thru.

Anyone gotten around this??

-Brian

Haven't encountered the problem myself but it may be due to the mounting depth of the speakers, stock is 2 3/4" for front and 2 1/2" for rears. Do you happen to know what the depth is for your speakers? You may want to check into that.

Quality is remembered long after cost is forgotten.

I don't know the mounting depth of the speakers offhand, but I'll be sure to check into that, thanks.

I have Pioneer 6x8s TS-A6857 in my front. I don't have any problem with them and they sound great. Maybe just too much wire got put in, try duct tape or some high quality glue,,, last resort.. snip some of the wire.

i had the same problem, same speakers. a few twist ties to bunch up the wires and shorten them enough to stay out of the way will do fine. ive had half a year since i did it with no problems

Just wondering here, did you guys make sure to run the wire around the window tracks, it sounds like you may have run them on the inside of the track, and when the window rolls down it catches the wire. You have to make a sharp corner with the wire immediately after getting it through the door and run it on the inside of the door panel.
