no, actually im pretty sure it DOES deaden sound. whats the difference between a dry mat of accoustic deadening material, or a spray which dries into a layer? it even says right on the label to use it on clean metal, and to only spray lightly on plastic parts if you want to prevent rattle. that, and i can notice the difference in noise level in my car, so it certainly did deaden.
