Anything form a spray can is not sound deadening, it is to prevent vibrating. It is meant more for plastics and other composites.
Dynamat is great. Best when adhered to metal, but will work on plastics as well.
But like Davo7SVT said, what you use and how much you use depends on what noise/vibration you trying to get rid.
