4 Bagger? LOL! You could play along with that.... Explain to her how that "hmmmmmmm" noise when you first start the car is an air pump getting primed to fill the bags in the engine. When you push on the gas pedal, the air is released from the bags, propeling the vehicle forward!!! Just like when you fill up a balloon and let it go without tying it! 4 baggers have four bags of air, 6 cylinders have 6 bags of air, etc......OH....and when a car backfires it's actually a bag of air popping under the hood! Uh oh.....
The sad thing is I know a few people who would believe that.

OMG make it stop!! now there's 2 of them

I've written a couple decent stream-of-consciousness stories on here before. Most notably the hamburger story in the audio forum. (*wipes away a tear*) And I think it's time for another, so here goes. This is nonfiction, meaning it's true. Wait, the hamburger story is the story of my life. Wait, no, not hardly! Now that it's written, it's more of an informative how-to for making a false trunk floor. Anyway, without further ado:

A Man and His Car

A couple weeks ago, I started to rebuild my trunk. I painstakingly removed the enclosure, amp, changer, and sub; all of which weigh about 110lbs combined. I have been without a sub or CD changer for 3-4 weeks by now. With everything out, I sprayed a couple cans of rubberized undercoating on the bare metal to give everything a nice solid feel. I then covered that with a can of plain undercoating, to give a tougher seal. A couple days ago, I finally finished cutting the three pieces to make the false floor; the spare tire cover and the two halves of the floor. Yesterday, it was time to cover them with felt. Well, the staples I had for my staple gun wouldn't fit, so I had to drive back to Wally World. I got there and ganked some new staples that would fit and went back home; thinking I'm all ready to finish this install and enjoy my bumpabump system. Right? Nope! I'm out of felt. I had one 12" x 6" scrap of felt that I had been using as a hanky. Completely aggravated, I got in my truck (yes everyone in the South has a truck) and went to the hobby store; which is past Wal Mart. Those fockers. Anyway, I get me bolt of felt and take it to the old lady to have her cut a yard for me. I said "I'd like one yard of this, please." She says "yes ma'am". "Sir," I said. "Oh! Of course!" She cut the fabric, I bought it and, I was on my way. I got home and started on upholstering the floor pieces. I finished the three pieces and put them in the trunk, along with the two grey side panels. I screwed the piano hinge onto the spare tire cover and attached it to the two floor halves. I was damn proud of my work. My system was still in our living room. The cat likes to sleep on the sub. I don't know why, but I did think about bringing a battery inside and hooking it up to scare the crap out of her. Damn cat. Anyway, I'm all done with the floor and I leave to go see my special ladyfriend. Now, I don't want to air any dirty laundry over the internet, but suffice it to say that, as of late, things between my ladyfriend and I have been a little rocky. She did this, I did that, it's not important. Anyway, last night was not my favorite night. I didn't want to just kick her out of the car at her place, so I drove around town. I drove for about 2 hours. I drove my favorite roads. Every now and then, we'd argue or something, but for the most part, it was an awful, tearing silence; save for the roaring engine and squealing tires. She asked one time "where are we going?" I simply replied "This way." I raced through down town, up Missionary Ridge, back through down town, across the valley, and up and then back down Lookout Mountain. We went passed Rock City, and at the Incline, I stopped. There are many scenic overlooks on the mountains around here. I stopped and looked out over the city and thought of the 300,000 people that live in Chattanooga, the person next to me is the one I love the most, and can't bear to talk to right now. I was torn, but it was time to go home. I took her back to where she left her car and we sat in silence; motionless, for almost twenty minutes; or what seemed like an eternity. When she got out, I went straight home and went to bed. I fell asleep rather quickly, which is good because I didn't want to lie in bed and dwell on the night. She calls me every morning at 8am to make sure I'm up for school. She takes very good care of me. That's the only time I have talked to her today. Normally, we'll talk a couple time through the day; between classes. We also send each other dozen of text messeges; while I'm in class and she's at work. I woke up right at 8 when she called. I felt sick. Not sick like I needed a doctor, but just sick and terrible. I went back to sleep and woke up having missed most of my biology class. When I finally got out of bed, there were 28 text messeges on my phone; all from her. It was like she wrote a long letter and then had to break it up line by line to send it to me. I didn't call her back. I didn't reply to the messeges. I went to calculus and talked car stuff with my friend, Travas. He was telling me about something he did to his Fire Bird, and I told him about my new trunk mod. After class, we went to Burger King and discussed our women troubles. Turns out, his ladyfriend treats him the same way sometimes. They have the exact same arguements as me and my lady. I had to go back to school for my biology lab, which lasted until 5:20 this afternoon. When I got home, I finished putting in my stereo. I had to muscle the enclosure back into the trunk. It's an even more snug fit now that the floor is raised slightly. I got everything reconnected and pushed back and bolted down. I popped the hood and put the fuse back in. Now came the moment of truth: did everything work? Did I forget anything? Turn the key. "Outkast...speakerboxxx vibratin tha tag, sound like aluminum cans in a bag." For that brief instant, when the sub was playing and the lights were dimming, I didn't care about anything. Whatever arguement we had last night, our lack of communication today, I didn't care. If she happened to pull into the driveway right then and there, it would be like yesterday never happened. "Hey honey, look at this!" Instead, I turned everything off and went inside. She called and I didn't answer. She hasn't called back. I feel empty. At least when I was driving spirited last night, I wasn't upset. But when I slow down and think, she's all I think about and all I need.

Anyone actually read this???
