Thanks for the suggestions. I did of course mean to race them at a track, not the street. This kid claims his dad used to race his RX-7 and got it to go 150mph in "the hills". I live in the bay area, and I don't know which hills he is talking about, but i think it is a loaded story anyway. That 150mph is interesting because according to RX-7.org ,their top speed was 123mph. Thanks again.

Now there's a couple silver haired pilots of some real nice CSVT's around here. Most notably in my end of town, there's a 50+ guy that drives a mint T-Red E1 on 17" black w/polished lip rims. Everytime I see him, I'm driving my damn truck. There's also a lady (much older) that has a black E0 out here. I see her at Home Depot hauling flowers all the time. I need to offer to trade my truck for her CSVT; since she's always hauling stuff. A teacher at my school drives a silver E1. Also, I've seen an elderly couple zippin around in yet another mint Tropic Green E1. Ya know, all the old people in my town have the cool cars. Old guy down the street has a loud as hell MG and a yellow on black WS6, which is also loud as hell. I wish I was old and retired. Right now, I'm just tired. Good night everybody.

You got to remember the Contour was designed to replace the Tempo, which replaced the Fairmont, which replaced the Maverick, which replaced the Falcon. Not exactly a family lineage known for quality or performance. As far as Mystiques go, Mercury products have always been marketed towards the senior citizen set. Mercury is Ford's answer to Buick and will never be a hip brand.

Did you meet him at the flag pole after school to fight?
Oh I hope he doesn't take your lunch money!

go and print some pictures of some of the hot ass contour pictures off the site. I have about 6, hell if you can't find enough, use some of the chopped ones, (THE REALLY GOOD ONES) and then show them. Show them, what your car can do. I got a picture of a svt with a super charger you can have also. Also, some of a 3L. and then print out a picture of a normal 2.5L. They will look at the pictures if you shove them in their faces. lol. A guy i went to college with who is into nissan trucks, hated contours, anti everything contour. I showed him the pictures, when I did my web site for class. and he was like that is so tight. He fell in love with the contour quite quickly. He was suprised it had more hp, and torque then, other cars during that time. Our cars still hold up pretty well man.
good luck.

The 1995 RX7 has 146 horsepower. However, depending on the course, I wouldn't disrespect them in an auto-x. They handle awesome.

Actually, my dad really likes my car. He has driven some higher end cars like Viper GTS, Corvette Z06, and S-Type 4.0, but he still manages to enjoy himself whipping my car around corners and just zipping in general. So, I'd really have to say that Contiques are cool no matter who is driving one. They are some of the only cars that are inter generational, I bet you won't see any fifty-year-olds driving lowered, kitted, fart canned, buzzing, winged, skittle green painted Honda Civics.
