Some little punk kids at my school think Contours are granny cars, and that they are ghey. They won't even look at my car for fear that it would "ruin their reputations". This one is so sure his 1985 RX-7(doesn't run) will beat my CSVT. The loosers won't even look at websites showing info on CSVTs. What should I say to them?
P.S. I'm not dissing RX-7's
Red 2000 SVT Contour. Can you say "factory freak"?

Ignore them. People say that about my car but only jokingly. Seeing as I'm the second most heavily modified car at my school (second only because one guy has airbags on his sentra), they can't say too much. You can always place a friendly wager on a race,,, if they're so sure they can beat you, then you can take their money (if you're sure you can beat them). Though that broke down rx7 may be tough to beat.

Well I don't know about your area, but around here most Contiques are driven by grandpas and grandmas.. So much that I notice when I see someone that looks younger than 60 driving one.
Not that I mind, in fact I like it that way, it helps alot with being overlooked by our friendly radar-using Crown Victoria-driving law enforcement officers.
I can't drive over 100 km/h in my girlfriend's Civic without being noticed (straight black LX, very very stock) and even pulled over; but in the Mystique, I guess the champagne color throws them off...
So I guess the punk kids are right in a way, but I feel it's an unfair advantage over their ricemobiles...

Racing is not a good idea unless it is at the racetrack. It only takes a split second to loose control at high speeds. My uncle Clifton likes to repair motorcycles so he built a 250 Yamaha street bike just to race. Billy and his brother both owned the Yamaha 250. Billyâ??s brother wanted to take the bike for a drive. It was a nice day and my uncle told him to be very careful because he had did some work on the motorcycle. Billy's brother was in the driveway and as he engaged the clutch the motorcycle took off and left him behind. All we could see was a cloud of dust because my uncle had a dirt driveway. Billyâ??s brother was OK but did not want to ride motorcycles after that. That bike was really fast. The engine turned so fast that it made a loud screaming noise. My uncle did well at the race track. He beat 900cc and 1000cc bikes riding the Yamaha 250.
Racing even at the race track is a risk.

Same here, not too many younger people drive them.

Yep, same here. I am in "retirement city" and most of the people I see driving Contiques are older. It's rare to find someone young driving one. Oh, by the way, if you race them at a track(legally), you would smoke them in a heartbeat. I am sure most of your cronies are in Civics or something similar, and, well, even my 4 cylinder Contour can smoke MOST Civics, if they aren't modded.

You don't have to race them. Instead, slowly change the topic of Tour's being Grannies car to Your Mama's so Fat...
That you can only fit one in an RX7.... but you can fit 4 in a Tour.

i'm not your uncle am i? meeting or hearing about someone else named clifton is quite rare. i have noticed that people who know squat about cars (these people actually believe fast & furious talk) think our cars are crap. but real enthusiants who know about cars and racing have mad respect for the svts. throw some money down at the "track" and show them whats up
"What did you think about that Dorothy girl?"
"The whole Judy Garland thing kinda turned me on. That doesn't make me some sort of fag does it?
"Nah baby, your money."

The tour is not an exceptional dragster, but get anything driven by a high school kid to an autocross track... with practice, you could easily beat an inexperienced RX-7 driver, but if he can drive... anyway, you have 200 hp. they have 100-120. seriously, just ask them to give you numbers.
