for smooth svt: you missed the point, i didnt say hockey was too rough, i am not being a pansy or anything, but there is distinct difference between being clean and rough (totally acceptable) and just not having any respect....twenty years ago, as you put it, hockey players didnt hit each other upside the head with their sticks and people didnt attack someone from behind when they cant see you as they fall to the ice and break their neck, that stuff didnt happen, and goalies have only been wearing mask for 20-30 years now....you dont need to try and point out that i am whining about it being too rough, get it straight....

and mikey boy, nashville not having a team, that is kind of harsh man....why does the nhl have too many teams? that dont have any more teams than the other 3 big sports.....

but why nashville in particular? we fought and lobbied for a team just like everyone else did for expansion purposes, we built our arena, we built our team, we put butts in the seats, and with one of the strictest philosophies and policies on creating a young team with no premade superstars, and one of the lowest salaries in the nhl, we are looking at the playoffs.....so why cant we contend? why is it because we are in the south? plenty of teams further south than us, plenty of teams further south than us, that are not playoff contenders....plenty of teams further north that are not playoff contenders either.....

and come on people....."well i aint watched hockey since 1987, that was the last year it was pure....blah blah blah....they took my team and moved them and everysince then i just havent had the heart to even wat sportscenter highlights...guys did get paid more than blah blah blah"

i am glad that in life the only thing you have to worry about is whether or not you think hockey is "pure" get a grip man, it would be different if hockey were the only sport like this, but look around, every sport is like this, and it is even beginning to spill over to where it is illegal, college sports.....if you wanna get anal and whiny.....who was the last professional athlete to refuse have of their salary because they were injured.....lets see....a-rod.....no, jeter.....no, iverson....no.......oh wait it was a hockey player, hasek.........
