I would like to know your opinions on the best component sets. I am going to purchase some soon. I am currently leaning towards MB Quarts or Focals, as these are availible pretty cheap on Ebay.

The CDT classic line is very nice, and right now, you can get a free set of CDT coaxials with the purchase of the 6.5" components at www.sounddomain.com. They may be worth a look.

These Crystal Mobile come in under your $400 and sound very nice. I have them installed in my car.

Last years model are only $119 from Sounddomain . Great Buy!!

Otherwise if you want to make your own I would go this route. Some custom fab will be need but well worth the very little trouble!

I found an MB Quart 3 way setup on Ebay in my range. Set includes a 8", 5", and 1". Would it be possible to squeeze the 8" and 5" in the door without modding the exterior of the door panel. I know I would have to cut some of the plastic away behind the existing speaker grill. Has anyone already done this? I would like to keep the stock appearance, as I live in a area prone to car theft and my cars appearance makes it enough of a target. Thus I don't want any audio equipment to be seen.

You could fit the 8, but the 5" wouldn't have a place to go. MB Quart used to have some 8" coaxes that were quite good that you might want to try to find.

Maybe mount the 5" in the door and the 8" in a kick panel with tweeter mounted on the side mirror vent cover, or maybe 8" and 5" reversed. Would this greatly affect imagining? Thanx for your input. You guys are a great help!
