I would _highly_ recommend the JVC. It too has 3 sets of 4V pre-outs. And as far as I know, it would be impossible to hear the diffence between JVC's 102dB S/N ratio and another company's 105 dB. Once you get that high, the weak link in the chain (i.e., the noisiest component) will be further down the line.

I have the KD-SH77 in my car, which is the same as the SH99 except for the MP3 capability. If you want to see a picture of it in my dash, check out my website link below. And notice while you're there what the trophy says... laugh Trust me, it is an excellent deck.

I have the JVC kdsh99 in my car... I love it!

Looks pretty good, motorized / removeable faceplate. Triple outputs, two aux inputs, remote.

The read time for mp3 discs is pretty quick. I usually fill my cdrs to the max, and all of my mp3 discs are read in about 10 seconds or less.

CD text is included, as is a decent but not fantastic EQ. I'm sorta all over the place in my description of the unit, but suffice it to say that I'm impressed with the unit. I think the previous generation unit is nicer looking than the newer one (difine 2.1 vs. 2.2). I am not sure what the other differences are between the two models, however.

Good luck with your search, and enjoy your new HU.

Go for the Rockford RFX9400. It not only has the 3 outputs, but it has 2 aux inputs, and a video input. They run on Ebay for about $240. I just threw one in my car, and i'm totally satisfied. It also has a copper plated chasis. It honestly blows away my old Sony Mobile ES.

I just got the Alpine 7894, and it rools, it reads the MP3 disc fast, has a resume feature for MP3, no long delays between tracks and doesn't have flashy graphics or any of that crap. JVC has discontinued the SH-99 for the 909 which is said to be even better.

And audiogalaxy seems to be in trouble with the RIAA, so get your leeching in soon before it disappears :p .
