I have a 98 SVT....had anyone ever installed air bags on one before? How does it look? My car is going to be all show and a little go so I am not too worried about performance. Thanks.

I was going to go with airbags. Dean is the one to talk to. I decided to just go with Ground Controls and Konis cuz bags cost to much to have reliable ones. If you got about 4000-6000 then go for it!

$4000-$6000 is a fairly vauge. I can put a awsome kit on my Impala for $1500-$2000. I know Contiques need the strut type setup, but they aren't THAT much more. Price will increase with how fast you want it to be.

i got quoted 4500 for a f,b,s,s with half in plumbing this was quoted here in hawaii. when in vegas i was quoted 3500 for the exact same setup. both said that all the links would have to be custom made but im not to sure about that.

A lotta stuff has to be custom made on a contour for airbags, so it costs more than other cars. Then you pay more for high quality stuff and yeah fastness and whatnot and it quickly adds up. My friend was telling me how he could bag the rear of his blazer for $300, you're not gonna do that with a contour.

Ask Dean about it. I could get a kit for 2000 for my car but how nice will it really be? I'm just saying I wouldnt do one unless I spent at least 4000 on it.

hayn_kine,
I know there is a Cougar running around Kahalui in Maui, and the work was done in town. I'm not sure what island you're on, but may want to check around

DeanJoyce is the man to talk to about this, his car is proof of that
I feel you guys on the cost, and I agree.....just because you can do it for as little as $2K doesn't mean you should. What you end up with would probably bite

I helped a friend bag his PT Cruiser. It wasn't a hard job, no more than replacing the struts and running a few air lines. Air Ride Technoligies is the company he got his parts from. They could also direct you to a dealer where you could possibly get good prices for your aplication. Ask Dean as well, I'm sure he can give you some good info. I've also considered bags, let us know how it turnes out.

p.s. I'm watching an episode of Trucks! where they are bagging an S-10 as I type this.
