that moght be the reason then though i went on a long drive before and it didn't do it, I think it was the different air filter(non stock) + the long drive that might have caused it. don't know though?

I, aswell.... have that noise in my SVT. I have a K&N drop in and brand new serpentine belt, and thats it.... still have that strange noise too. I have had a few people ask if I had a blower... it's nice to dream sometimes...y'know....

I got the whine when I installed a new serp belt too. Hmmmm... I don't mind it and I know it's nothing harmful at this point, just a little loud. The Wife hates it, but she doesn't ever drive my car and hates the entire package anyway, so  to her.

I had the same sound and I had a vblt and tensioner replaced and the sound was gone.

when I put a Dayco belt on with the cogs, it whisltes like a SC......

My mystique has always had a s/c type sound. The engine is completely stock (less the UIM/LIM cleaning a couple months ago).

You'll also come to find out that if There is a GoatorBack brand of acessory belt on your car that it will make a sound like a super charger.
A high pitch whine.

Yup, when I put my DMD on I put on a gatorback serp belt and had a whine. Thought it was my DMD at first. It really pissed me off then I decided to put back on my original belt. Whine went away.
