Could be alternator. When alternators go they can make a loud whining/whirring noise, it does in fact sound a lot like a S/C.

Solution... simple.

Remove the serpintine belt... start the engine... did the noise go away?

If it did, inspect each of the pullies. Replace/repair problems found.

If it did not... be afraid. Very very afraid.

So, I've been trying to figure this out for the last week. I was pulling away from a stop light and probably brought her up to 5k rpm's in 1st, then dropped her into second and noticed a strange mid-higher pitch whine that was variable with the engine. I've pulled the main belt off and it's still there, and even pulled the water pump belt for a couple seconds and it was still there. I'm guessing that I could be in trouble here since the cause is not belts or assesories. Any ideas on what it is?

Mine made a sound like this; it was coming from the air in-take box. The top was not closed all the way, some of the clips are missing from it. Most likely not the same sound that yours is making but you might want to check.

Oh yeah, that could be it. I have a K&N and that increased airflow could be a source of a whine like that. Maybe in concert with the stock airflow resonator (that piece behind the front left wheel).... Good thinking!

Nah, my SVT whistles at 1/2 throttle too (i thought it was the intake tube getting stuck on that rubber piece in the fender, but now i just think its imperfections in the throttle plate). It's not that, it's a distinct roots blower sounding whine. I think it's the DMD, im gonna try taking the belt off to see if it goes away.

Thought of that too, since my air box is missing one clip. I already opened it up all the way and there was no difference, then I held it closed and the same. I just want to know if I'm going to wreck something by driving it. From what some people have told me, bearing noise is usually a low pitch sound not the one I have. So, would I be safe driving it? Maybe I'll bring it by a garage and see if they can hear my mystery sound.
