I'd like to use this amp to power the component system, but I cant have my highs and mids cut out. what can I do to fix this? Or should I just get a new amp?

Where is the amp located? Is there room for heat to dissipate? If there's anything blocking the amp I'd try and free up some space around it. Also, if the amp is mounted sideways or upside down I'd try placing it upright to see if that helps. Some amps don't shed heat as well as others. That said, my MTX Thunder D-class amp is in a pretty tight space and hasn't overheated yet, but then again it hasn't been very warm here lately.
