There's a real old man (about 85+) around here that beats around in an even older Volvo station wagon. He's got the 100k mile club badges on the front grill. He has 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500k mile club badges! I didn't talk to him the last time I saw him though. But I'm surprised the radiator doesn't blow up, since it's blocked by all those Volvo badges!

The Safari has the 4.3L V6, which is actually a 350 with the back two cylinders cut off. I believe the hp is 180. As far as "little things" going wrong with a vehicle, well, our vans all go through that, I mean after all, when one van goes almost 2K a week and another one goes almost 1K a week, its bound to happen. The main thing here is the running gear is all original AND its a domestic vehicle.
As far as what happens when it hits a million miles, well, maybe they'll buy it back at then For the record, I changed the oil & air filter, had the trans filter/gasket changed out and rotated the tires Stay tuned for 1,000,000!!!

Half a million miles - Impressive. Meanwhile my wifeâ??s 2002 Grand Am GT has a little over 25,000 miles and it has to date, spent 8 different times at the dealership for warranty work! 2 times for a cracked flex plate!
By the way, my buddy has a friend who has over 800,000 miles of hard Michigan driving on his Ford Escort. I think he told me the only thing he has ever done besides maintenance stuff (oil changes, tune ups, brakes, tires, belts, etc) was to change the head on it. It has the original, automatic transmission! He said he is going to create a shrine for it when it rolls over a million miles.
