I've had this same problem and now the dang thing sits in my garage. Most of us have prob. wanted to ask the CEG but figured everyone else knew how to do it and felt kinda dumb. Now we know the truth. Thanks for Taking One for the Team!

Me too - real imitation leather jack bag, with velcro straps to hold it down and a foam block to stop rattles. Ford probaably ssaved a whole $1.00 decontenting that setup!!!

Since I only drive 6 miles back and forth to work I dumped the spare. I carry a cigarette lighter powered air pump for the slow leaks, an emergency plug kit fot the big leaks and a cell phone for the blow outs Never had to use any of it so far and droped like 35 lbs of tire weight by my bathroom scales estimates.

The SVTs have a 15" alloy spare (it's white) because bits of body kit and exhaust pipe would drag if we had to use the regular 12" (or whatever) steel spare.

Peace
