Does anybody have pics of the spare tire!! I can not figure out for the life of me how its suppose to be held down. I know its rediculous but it flops around so it must be wrong.

solution:

step 1, remove spare tire, jack, carpet, anything else in area

step 2, get angle grinder and griding disk, cut the damn mounting block hump thing out. use of BFH is probably necessary and very gratifying.

step 3, install stereo system with well fitting box in area. it wont move around, make noise, and is probably lighter than the spare and jack

i took my spare out once, never got it to sit right again, gave up.

Same here, that damn thing was a source of some serious stress. First I couldnt get it back in the trunk right, then it rattled like a mofo, its been in the shed ever since.

The key is getting the darned jack in at the right angle and scissored wide enough first. Then, you must position the spare over the jack so it is centered above the hole which you screw the bolt into. Center the clip over the spare and then turn the bolt something like 100 times. The first time it took me about 1/2 hour. Now it takes a minute or two.
