Thanks again for all the good advice gents. The power wire is a foot or a little more than a foot away from the battery. Maybe halfway between the firewall and the battery. I do remember there being a fuse near the end of it originally. Unfortunately, the half of the power wire they cut is no where to be found. Probably in the dealer's dumpster. Won't be able to use your great suggestion now and save myself some time getting it fixed. I talk to the dealer about all this tomorrow.

It's fine that the mechanic had to cut it, but fix it or at least tell me about it for cryin' out loud. Besides, I'm dying to play the new Rush album during my commute ....
