I'm not saying California doesn't have its good points. It just has more bad points, the kind that you have to deal with everyday, that don't make it the ideal place to live. Georgia has some beaches and Alabama's and Florida's are close as well. We have less traffic in places other than Atlanta. Lower gas prices. Less idiotic crap going on (peta, emissions testing, banning products that are partially developed using WATER). Like I said, hunting and fishing are also probably better here in Georgia. Our education system sucks, but from what I hear/see most of Cali's does too. Neither state is good, but California in the social/political sense isn't a good place to live. In a natural sense, maybe it is pretty good and diverse. We have snow in north georgia and no snow in south. Not a lot to do unless you live in atlanta, but that's why I say georgia isn't the best place to live either. And we enjoy going to our friends houses, but normally we do more than say how ya doin,, but I also think our teenage drinking level has gotta be pretty high down here.
So in conclusion, both states suck, but California isn't better (overall) than Georgia.

I'm not trying to call you out here, but who died and made you the state Know-it-all? have you ever been to California, let alone lived here? I have lived in Cali for almost 19 years and I couldn't ask for a better place to live. It has everything you could desire. If you want to live in a large city, you got it. If you want to live in the mountains, near the beach or even in redwoood forests, we have that too. If you desire to live in a town of 50 poeple, hours away from any major city, we have that as well. There are lakes and the ocean for fishing, and plenty of forests for hunting.

I never, and I am dead serious here, never sit in traffic. This is mainly due to the fact that I don't live in So Cal, or San Jose/San Fran. But a lot of people don't.

As far as dealing with car crap. My tour has headers, CIA, Aftermarket cat-back system, sho shop y-pipe, and I pass smog inspections no sweat. I pay what, $250 a year for registration? Big deal, if they raised it to $350 I wouldn't bat an eye.

The school system here is overall very good. We have some of the finest schools and universities in the nation. Some city's have better public schools than others. I know that within fifteen miles of San Luis there are three State funded colleges. And that is in a town of 40k people. I can only imagine how many there are in largely populated areas.

I am glad that your teenage drinking level is high, you sound like you are enjoying that.

As far as which state is better, I don't know because I have never lived in Georgia, but I do know that I will never leave here to figure it out.

ohh and Fmr12B, being a Santa Cruz native I will let you in on a little saying of ours.

"keep our beaches clean, close 17."
