kremit i too would like to know what georgia you are living in. when i took my dad to see my brother finish boot camp at fort benning i found a few things: -there is absolutely nothing to do in georgia! you do admit this though. in fact the locals said the only thing to do is leave or get pregnant (their words not mine)
-anytime you can drive for two hours in a state as small as georgia and find zero signs of life something is wrong (atlanta to benning)
-the average georgian is infact not as smart as the average bear. as evidenced by the pigly wigly i found and i am proud to admit that we don't have them in cali anywhere. additionally the receptionist at the motel spoke a language that i am convinced was not based on english. i mean to say that her accent was totally incomprehensible. she was not an immigrant and i am pretty good with accents.
-when i said girls i meant desirable girls. in the three days i spent in georgia the only lookers i say were from other states (at the ceremony)
-the only point i will give you is that there people seem to follow the rules of the road to a greater degree than here where they are not really followed at all.
i had no intention of really bashing your state but you seem to want the info. oh yeah. we may get the occassional earthquake but we never ever get hurricanes.

I like Georgia. I worked in Atlanta Georgia and there are all kinds of jobs there. Any kind of job you want can be found in Atlanta, GA. Atlanta Jobs are some of the highest paying jobs in the Country.

We have less traffic in places other than Atlanta. Lower gas prices. Less idiotic crap going on (peta, emissions testing, banning products that are partially developed using WATER). Like I said, hunting and fishing are also probably better here in Georgia. Our education system sucks, but from what I hear/see most of Cali's does too. Neither state is good, but California in the social/political sense isn't a good place to live. In a natural sense, maybe it is pretty good and diverse. We have snow in north georgia and no snow in south. Not a lot to do unless you live in atlanta, but that's why I say georgia isn't the best place to live either. And we enjoy going to our friends houses, but normally we do more than say how ya doin,, but I also think our teenage drinking level has gotta be pretty high down here. So in conclusion, both states suck, but California isn't better (overall) than Georgia.
I'm not trying to call you out here, but who died and made you the state Know-it-all? have you ever been to California, let alone lived here? I have lived in Cali for almost 19 years and I couldn't ask for a better place to live. It has everything you could desire. If you want to live in a large city, you got it. If you want to live in the mountains, near the beach or even in redwoood forests, we have that too. If you desire to live in a town of 50 poeple, hours away from any major city, we have that as well. There are lakes and the ocean for fishing, and plenty of forests for hunting.
I never, and I am dead serious here, never sit in traffic. This is mainly due to the fact that I don't live in So Cal, or San Jose/San Fran. But a lot of people don't.
As far as dealing with car crap. My tour has headers, CIA, Aftermarket cat-back system, sho shop y-pipe, and I pass smog inspections no sweat. I pay what, $250 a year for registration? Big deal, if they raised it to $350 I wouldn't bat an eye.
The school system here is overall very good. We have some of the finest schools and universities in the nation. Some city's have better public schools than others. I know that within fifteen miles of San Luis there are three State funded colleges. And that is in a town of 40k people. I can only imagine how many there are in largely populated areas.
I am glad that your teenage drinking level is high, you sound like you are enjoying that.
As far as which state is better, I don't know because I have never lived in Georgia, but I do know that I will never leave here to figure it out.
ohh and Fmr12B, being a Santa Cruz native I will let you in on a little saying of ours.

This state is hell on earth...period.
What do you expect living in CLOVIS?
He has a good point there. I have relatives in Melrose, just outside of Clovis, and there isnt a damn thing to do over there. I thought Albuquerque was bad, Clovis is perfect for retired folks, and not much else.
I remember when everyone was jumping for joy when Wal Mart opened up a store over there, making a big deal out of it.
Yeah when I first had the misfortune of being stationed here 4 years ago all anyone talked about when I got here was "Ohhhh we got a Super Walmart open 24/7" that's right about when I figured out this place was gonna suck.

Ok guys, so Kremit likes Georgia, and thinks it's DA BOMB, alot you LOVE California and thinks it's DA SH!T, I have been to over half the states in the US PLUS two countries, and ain't NONE of it the best. California has it's great points: beaches, wine country it also has bad: cost of living, gas prices Georgia has it's good points too, if you like living in the country, but Atlanta looks no different to me than San Franciso, except without the hills, or even LA. Florida, I love Florida. I was born there. Is it the best?? No, but it has alot to offer to everyone....cities, country, ocean...... old people. Guys, it's childish to fight over which state is better. It's PERSONAL PREFERENCE. Freak is right, Kremit is right, Pack is right, everyone is RIGHT in THIER OWN OPINION. Nobody is wrong, one state is not better than the other..... it's a matter of personal opinion for Christ's sake. You guys are wasting time fighting over something UNWINABLE.

Well I don't think you really spent enough time here.. but anyways, yeah I don't think georgia is awesome,, but california definitely isn't better. And we don't get hurricanes like crazy either... I'm sure ya'll get plenty more earthquakes. We had to two floods in Albany in the 90s, but those were the first two in 150 years. Anyways, both Cali and georgia sucks, just cali has more to do and georgia sucks less as far as a decent place to live. Keep it coming cali, I love the article on banning products made from water.

It's spelled PIGGLY WIGGLY, we have them here in SC. In fact, there's two within 5 miles of me. They aren't that bad actually. Low prices, good items. If they were cheaper than Super Walmart, I'd go there, but Super Walmart is cheaper on most things than our Air Force base commissary. oh, and by the way, I have my Piggly Wiggly VIC card
