Ryan- Cheers on such a quality job. I'll be ripping my SVT apart next month to do my own stereo. It will be my first time doing it so it should be interesting. Like you, I prefer SQ and a clean install. I am curious to see the website you make. Question: How much extra does the car weigh with all those materials in the back? I want a nice stereo but I dont want to slow the car down either smile

Hey JVitolo,

The install that you are talking about is actually Christian's (rainshdw1). Just wanted to clear that up.

Take care,

Ryan

it's ok dude, no offense taken, I knew who you meant. The website is now is my signature.

It weighs approx 250 more lbs. I'll see if I can break it down for you...this is a pretty good estimate. I weighed it all individually before installing.

30 lbs for right and left sides of trunk including equipment.

98 pounds for the box, inlcuding the speaker...yes 98!

30 lbs for each front door, including speakers

around 32 pounds for wire/loom/carpet/soder/foam/felt/glue/hot glue/HU/ect.

It really didn't make too much of a difference...just barely noticable. But hey I don't drag race or autocross so it really didn't matter to me. I was acutally kinda surprised, I thought it was gonna slow it down more.

Nice work!!!!

I need to make a floor for mine. What is the thinest/strongest material that will hold about 50lbs without breaking? I gotta cover this!
