Zaino is one of the best waxes. There are a lot of very good products on the market; Meguiar's, Groits, etc. The biggest draw back to Zaino is it's mail order only. You can read/order Zaino at their website.


There was a thread a couple weeks ago entitled "Wax-amania! Are you ready to rumble??!?!" or something like that. It's a good read. Basically, detailing a car is 10% the products you use and 90% technique. If you don't know what you're doing, you can use the best and it'll look crappy. Likewise, you can use some cheap stuff (or in this case free!) and if you use it right and know what you're doing, you'll get a good result.


Me personally? I've used Zaino for a year. I've gotten a lot of compliments on my deep shine. My car is slow, so I have to compensate somehow. At first, I was quite leary of detailing my new car, as I'm young and inexperienced. Now that I've done it a couple times, I've learned some tricks of how to apply what product to which car part. I've learned what are the best applicator pads, towels, rags, wash mitts, sponges (for the wheels), brushes (for the tires), and little detail brushes that come in handy. It's all trial and error mangh. When I first started really doing the car, it took me all day. Plain and simple, I was in the garage smelling like Zaino for 8 hours. Now, I can wash, clay bar, wash, wax, and wax in under 5 hours. I also only need ~45 minutes start to finish to just wash it. The biggest thing I learned is to read stuff. Research what you're buying. Zaino ain't cheap, and I'm a poor college student. I am more than satisfied with my Zaino products, and I'll be ordering more when need be.
