not as expensive as you'd think. i just went to the scrap yard today and pulled a trunk full of good misc. parts for less than $100.
Yes, true dat. My Saab 9000 parts weren't any more than any old Buick, and the car had more style and comfort too. That said, if you want easy to repair yourself Saab isn't the way to go - very clever engineering all over those cars but can require special tools to repair. I'd second old Nissan - if you're lucky you can find a decent old SE-R for what you're looking to pay.
