Still scouring the papers and noticed an ad for a 95 Contour needing a motor. I called and got answering machine.

At this point I'm hoping for simply a 5speed, as I could probably get a computer for it.

Perhaps some of our friends at Ford could even re-program one for me

Saw another ad for a 4cyl Contour for some $1500. I sent the e-mail and should get an answer back. However, I believe that one is a typo. But if not, even if it is a 4cyl, that is a pretty cheap project car.

For those praying types, get down on your knees and say some prayers tonight or tomorrow.

Cheers,

TB

Well here is the update.

The $1500 Contour in Springfield, IL is not $1500 and the sale guy doesn't even know what the drive train is?

The '95 needing an engine transplant must have an owner that is (worst case scenario) needing a courtesy transplant. Three calls to the number listed in the paper (long distance for me) netted three messages left on the answering machine. Perhaps I'll try again Wednesday. Geez, I have a personal toll free number so it is not like this clown is going to go broke returning my calls to tell me the car is gone, he changed his mind, he owes too much and can't sell it because the bank holds the title.

I hope he/she ain't dead or hurt, but you'd think if someone puts an ad in the paper they check their machine.

What is with people today, is courtesy out of fashion?

TB

Tony, I don't want to go into details, but this is nothing compared to my Tour II buying experience. How about 2x2-hour and 2x1-hour round trips to get one car?

Tour II: 98 SE V6 MTX Sport -- bone stock

Oh,

I forgot to add the other inconsiderate, the last Monday in September I went to Kribs Ford in STL and offered my 99SE + $5K to buy a new 99 SVT sitting on the lot.

I told him I had to go back to work (on lunch) and to call me on my cell, I have voice mail et. al.

I've called him back three times, he has yet to call back with a counter offer or to just tell me no, we can't sell the car at that price.

You'd figure a saleman would want to sell a car.

I'm carrying a pre-approved bank promissary note for 30K, all I need to do is sign, the dealer calls the banks 800 number with the VIN and I can drive a car away.

Cheers,

TB
