sordz,

Turn it down :p Try to figure out what part of the trunk is rattling. This would help us here to give you some ideas.

later,

Chris.

#1 easiest thing to help is to pulkl your seats down and let them have more air to breate. 2nd, I'd make sure your license plate doesn't rattle, if it does then the conventional napkin behind it can do wonders. As for the inside of the trunk, not much rattles except the spare tire ... I have dynomatted the whole thing and still it still rattles. Jared.

You may want to check you bumber and wheel wells one of my buddies bumper was loose and rattled like crazy and a guy at the local stereo shop told me after dynamatting his trunk he figured out that his wheel well was causing the rattling confused never had either of those problems but just some advice

Another fix for the license plate is one of two things. One, get some thin rubber washers to add just a little space between the plate and the holder....two, slightly bend the plate so that the bottom is not touching the holder. If you can, use all four licence screws and use the rubber washers.

Also, do like was said earlier. Listen with the stereo down and the highs off. Why you ask? Because you are listening for the beginning noise of the rattle.

Wanna hear something that really sucked? Had a 84 chev cavalier with this annoying rattle that was in the headliner. YES the headliner! Took a whole lot of a product called poly-fill used in making crafts and LOADED the headliner with it. Fixed the problem

Hope this give a little more help

I used vel-cro for the licence plate...worked.

now the only rattle I get is from the plastic that lines the bottom of the trunk lid (where it closes).

does the dyomat work?
worth it?

Is there a fix for the spoiler, I have been trying to eliminate all the rattles I can find and this happens to be one of tem. It rattle under the left side where it mounts to the top of the trunk , if I push down on it , it stops rattling.

The best way to get all the rattles out of the trunk on a Contour... hmmm... two ideas come to mind...

1) Crush the car into a 1x1 foot cube

2) Put Contour badges on a BMW or Mercedes

I kid, but really it is an ongoing battle to stop all the rattles the Tour produces. At least it would be if I didn't sell it frown . The worst come from the rear dash panel, then the loose wiring along the trunk walls. Tape it ALL down the entire length of the wiring. Do this on the bottom of the rear dash as well. Cover the farting vents in the sides of the trunk, do the license plate and make sure the 3rd brake light doesn't touch the rear window.

As you go through the years of ownership, more will pop up as the car loosens more and more until it breaks in two or whatever they end up doing laugh
