I've got a set of Boston Acoustics Pro 6.5's in my front doors, and I hate to say it, but I hate the tweeters. Hate 'em. They sound far too harsh and peaky for my ears. I've always disliked aluminum-domed tweeters, though, and have preferred silk-domed tweeters.

This leads me to my question: Is there anyone here that can compare/contrast the BA Pro 6.5 with the Polk 6.5 (Momo and non-Momo)? I know that Dynaudio has great speakers, but I'm wondering if I can be happy with less. I've always liked Morel's tweeters, and have some in my home speakers. They're slightly more expensive than Dynaudio, last time I looked, so Polk seems to be the most cost-conservative option, if they sound decent.

Can any of the more experienced audiophiles here offer some opinions?

Thanks....

cdt has some pretty nice tweeters. so does focal but some find focals to be too harsh. also look at JL's tweeters and infinity perfects, and MB Quartz. all of those brands in my opinion are better than boston acoustics and polk. but neither one of them come close to the Dyn's tho.i dont really know about Morel's cus i never heard em. also i been hearin a lotta good stuff about Adire's new componets... anyone here heard those????

ive heard/installed and tuned almost every set both of you have mentioned besides the Adire and the Morel, I personally think the smoothest sounding tweeters i have heard where the Diamond Audio CM6? i think is the model Number... they blend almost flawlessly in with the mid. the Quartz Premiums also are very nice.

It all depends on exactly what you are looking for in the sound of the system. If you dont like the real piercing tweets than bostons is surely not the way to go. Polks are not bad but i cant really say because i have only heard the low models. But i can say that the MB Quart refference series with a decent size amp will definetley do the trick.
