Ok heres the deal...70% of the time when I turn on my car the head unit doesnt turn on. If I turn the car off and flip the key on and off about 50 times it'll eventually come on and then I can start the car.

It wasn't doing this before, I checked all connections and none are loose. It may be related but at the same when in CD mode, the face plate will go dark(DEH 7000) and the buttons no longer respond but the music still plays! The face most commonly goes out when going up an incline...and yea I checked the face for good contact and its fine Any ideas??

It sounds like the contact points on the face to me. I'd try cleaning them with some contact cleaner on a q-tip and making sure nothing was bent/broken/misaligned. This could also be the source of your problem as you suggested. If the HU doesn't think the face is there, it won't power up.

Still sounds like a wiring problem.

You checked the face and radio connections and found them to be good, ok.

Have you pin check the radio wiring with a voltmeter. And while you are at make sure nothings hooked up funny.

If ground is ground and B+12volts is live at all time with +12volts and ignition +12volts has +12volts every time you tune the key to ACC or RUN; then you have a bad radio or this is changing when the radio is installed. That is you may have a wire grounding out when the unit is installed, so your pin out checks out but your radio acts up as soon as you install it.

Still I think you will find a bad radio or a wiring problem.
