Intalling some Infinity Seperates.
Now that I have my door panels ripped off, I was wondering if there is any advice on positioning of my tweets. Is there an image improvment in locating the tweeters higher up. I was thinking mounting the tweeter in the defrost vent channel by the door mirror (that triangular piece with the screw plug).
I know I will loose the stock look, and I am no longer stealth. Will the sound be to bright?
Thanks for your feedback.

I put mine in the kick panel carpet...Cut an x in the carpet about the size of the tweeter and stick in there...you should have some hardware included in the speakers to secure them in... Just my .02

yes...the space between them is about 1 foot...not too bad...I would like to have them a bit closer, but I can't make kick panels, and don't want to mess with my door skins...

T-red...you have mids in the front doors? are the mid-bass or bass drivers in the back doors?
I was just wondering how that would work for a 3 way system. given that the lower in freq. you go, the less important location becomes....
I could put my 6.5" in back doors and mid drivers in front doors....
He's chaaarging!!!...(add scottish accent)...

I have 6.5 in the front doors, tweeters in the kick...I have nothing in the back doors...I have a spare set of RF 5X7's...thinking of throwing those in front doors, crossed over for midrange, then maybe try my hand at some kick panels for the 6.5...would this work, or would it sound shibby?

Anybody have theirs installed in the A channel?
Are there reasons not to? It looks like a nice fit.

There are a few who have used the a pillar. It can work pretty well. Use some kind of adhesize that is easily removed and stick the tweeters there and listen. If you like it, leave it.

I put mine in the corner of teh a pillar. With a little time correction it sounds absolutley great. But in my last system I had them in the kicks and I was really happy with it also. Try both and see which you prefer.

Had mine in the A-Pillar moldings in my 98 Mondeo and liked it. I tried the location with velcro first; makes relocating the tweeters very easy. That way I tried different locations and liked the A-Pillars best. And they are pretty easy to install there, too. The crossovers were in the right and left corners of the dash.
I have the same setup in my new 2002 Mondeo since last night, and I like it so far - but haven't really been able to do any adjustments yet.
