A couple nights ago I was doing some spirited driving. I took a sweeping left-hand curve at about 100, when the back end of my car started to slide. Luckily i slid into an empty lane and did not hit anything or anyone. My question is why would I be experiencing oversteer? I though the front end would slide out first due to the front wheel drive architecture.

My car does the same thing. It over steers a bit i think it is normal for these cars.

Remember, you're also decelerating in a curve, that shifts weight FORWARD, decreasing rear traction, and there... voila! The tail breaks loose.
High speed drift driving thus involves a bit of anticipating the curve and all that.
Just a plain jane '96 LX V-6 here...

Exactly. If you where to get on the throttle going through the turn, you would push the cars weight to the rear, inducing understeer. Kinda fun eh?

They don't,, they understeer. Though ANY car can be pushed in a way to develop understeer or oversteer.

Mying never understeer it oversteer when i push it. I have been driveing for over 30 years and a lot of sport cars i think i know what understeer and oversteer is. plus 10 years MX racing.

Maybe someone already installed a larger rear bar in your car before you bought it?
