Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives Forums Modifications Brakes BAD ABS?!

I've noticed my cars brakes have been acting VERY funny for awhile now and i was told by a friend that its probably my ABS. I brought my car to Midas to get my front rotors and pads changed. I went back today because the grabbing or whataver it was doing didnt stop (which i thought it might after getting the brakes done..) so they took it for a test drive today and he said its the ABS, he said its not working at all. it like kicks in but then doesnt kick out when its supposed to or something. like if i tap the brake, let off then back put it back on i feel a grinding/grabbing or something. anyway he said it would be like 700 to replace the abs unit and crap like that. what is it that i need to replace? is it something that i can do if i goto a junk yard and get an abs unit/brain or something? i dont know how any of this works... im having such bad luck with this car im really starting to HATE my contour. first my tranny, then timing belt and motor, tires, brakes and now ABS. i think ive spent more on fixing it then i actually paid for it. this is really frustrating...anyone know what ican do to fix my abs?
