I have been dealing with a ticking noise on my Duratech V6. About two years ago Ford replaced my front header. It was doing the noise then and they could not find where it was coming from. Now then it only started ticking when the motor got warm. When it was cold it never ticked... Now two years later. It ticks at start up and louder when its warm... I think its an exhaust leak but other people think its an injector ticking?
Its around the area of the water pump. Right in the fromt of the motor? I would think an exhuast leak would get louder when you rev it, but it doesn't? It remains the same volume of sound. But speeds with the motor...Also when I cover the rear muffler a guy said it would get louder if it was an exhaust leak and it didn't?
I know any of you can NOT hear it and I am not asking for an answer. Just curious if an injector could tick so loud that you hear it 40 yards away? Is this possible...
Can an injector be replaced?
