I just bought a 96 contour GL off ebay for a great price. It needs a little bit of work for the most part cause it sat for like 18mos. The car has 110K miles but he replaced the engine and tranny cause it had a tranny leak and was able to find one and the engine came with it. Now for my questions. Fortunately I was able to test drive the car before I bid on it and noticed some problems. One being with the tranny, it shifts fine under normal acceleration but when you go to wot it downshifts but then doesn't really want to go. If feels like something is holding it back. IF you downshift at half throttle it's fine but the minute you floor it it doesn't want to move. So I'm not sure if it's an actual tranny problem or some type of sensor. Also the car has a very ruff idle and the cel is on. Right now it's at my mechanics place getting a complete tune up and then he will pull the code and let me know what it is. I'm hoping the tune-up and/code takes car of the idle and hopefully it's not a huge tranny job. Like I said the tranny shifts fine under normal conditons so I don't think it's anything major.
