It shows more obvious stupidity on your part and the officers part.

I work with cops, I know a lot goes on, but not as much as the previous person I was replying to made it seem.

And I'm sure there's a law that says you have to fight. I know how many officers like to interpret the law in their own way, but I guarantee there isn't a law that says that.

I guess I'm wrong and you're right and people have to fight if you say they do.

I wish cops would just get off their high horses,,, but that's why they are cops, so they can boss people around, etc. Like I said, I know and work with plenty of cops, I know how they are.

LMAO!!!

Kermit -

I am NOT a cop so as for your knowing what is a cop and why they are a cop and because this and whine that! I am a Dispatcher not a cop - I dont pretend to know all the laws and all their legal definitions. I DO know that nearly every state in the Union has a good samaritan law on the books, which YOU ARE ABSOLUTLY INCORRECT ABOUT - REQUIRES you to render aid to ANY person in need of said help. If you see an officer in a fight and do not stop to help you MAY be held accountable, but the same goes for a normal person as well. If you are too young to remeber the last episode of Sinfeld it was a comedic poke at these laws. You ARE REQUIRED BY LAW to help, no if ands or buts.

That Good Samaritan law would be great if it could be enforced. I will give you and example; a man came to my home late at night and said his car was off of the road a little and would not get traction. He needed someone to pull him out. It was a full moon and I could see just like it was daylight almost. I went and borrowed my dad's 4 wheel drive truck and log chain. When I got there the man's car was in about 2 or 3 feet of water. The river was flooding. I had got my new $80 shoes wet and I was getting cold. Then here come the police with their lights on. The police ask me if I was drunk and ordered me to go sit in my truck. I did what they ask because police will shoot a person. I guess the police might have thought I was taking a risk. I have took risks all of my life. I've been on rescue and assistance teams and we risk out lives all the time. If a person does not take some risks then life would not be worth living. The police were acting like a tough, holier than thou bunch of tough men. I did not like sitting in my truck for hours. I wanted to go get my log chain that was connected manâ??s car and leave. After the wrecker pulled the manâ??s car out the police accused me of trying to steal the chain. It was my log chain.

That incident really changed my mind about helping other people. I was traveling a couple of weeks later and I went into a menâ??s room at a truck stop in Kentucky. There was a little boy in a closed stall saying "I want my daddy" again and again. The little boy was making loud grunting noises like maybe someone was stabbing him or something. The man in the stall was saying "d@mn people d@mn people" over and over and he was breathing hard like he was involved in some kind of strenuous activity. I wanted to get involved and when I walked out there was a policeman at the truck stop. I wanted to tell the policeman but the way the police treated me that night changed my opinion of them. In the military my bosses motto was always "cover your own @ss". I guess that means do what you have to do to survive and to heck with other people. I don't know for sure what was going on at the truck stop but I was suspicious that something bad was happening. I wanted to report things to the police but I was scared they would twist and distort the truth and try to cause me problems.

I always respect police and their position of authority and do as I am ordered. I know what it is like being in a position of authority. Most people will respect authourity but some just don't respect a policeman's position of authority. It does not happen often but it is bad when police abuse and misuse their position of authority. They should also treat people with respect and allow neighbors to help neighbors.
