I see that a lot too. My Dad especially hates that crap because he used to be a cop and didnt do stuff like that to give the public a reason to hate him.
A lot of the cops in my town are under investigation for all kinds of stuff, and half the town doesnt like them, most of them have the worst attitudes you have ever seen. There are some good ones, though. I hear a few of them are actually scared to go into some parts of town because they *might* not make it back out, after abusing their power so much.
I have been pulled over a few times by the bad ones, and I felt lucky to get a ticket or a warning without cuts and bruises magicaly appearing or getting hauled off to jail for absolutely nothing.

See if your state has a defensive driving course. I think most do. I took one in AZ after I got a speeding ticket. The course ended up being cheaper than the ticket plus I didn't get any points on my license. The course in AZ only took a couple of hours.

Isn't that just the wrong way?
Yeah, but faster!

And I never claimed I didn't need any driving experience -- I was just floored that someone driving 80+MPH who suffers from nightblindness and apparently poor vision from what you've said thinks they don't have to worry about anything other than what's on the road. That comment either belies stupidity (which I know you're not) or just lack of experience.
' Well like I said, I already know that stuff and did that when I was pulled over. I guess it would have made me happier if I knew for certain I was getting the ticket then I wouldn't have said yes sir, etc.
I don't think my vision is extremely poor just not 20/20 and I don't know the exact definition of nightblindness, but I think every would see spots after trying to drive away with a spot light shining right at you,,, look in mirrors=spotlight, look behind you=spotlight. It wasn't cool. And I do realize you have to worry about stuff not on the road, but usually people are on the road, I could care less about my own life, so if a cow walks out and make me wreck and I die, oo well. But I see cars, and I did see his car before he turned his lights on , but you and me both know radar goes a pretty far ways... I was slowed and stopped on the side of the road less than 50 feet after where he was originally parked.... And how do you know I'm not stupid? I'm beginning to think I am, or cursed or something. I quit smoking, I didn't drink for 3 weeks, so then my grandfather ends up in hospitial,,, I end up with a ticket. All this on top of many many other things... it's just getting to be a lot to handle. .....

I can tell you from experience that complaining about the police is usually a waste of time. The police came to my home a couple of years ago in the middle of the night, woke me up beating on the door (I think they were about to kick the door in). When I opened my door they were kicking at my dog. My dog was a people dog that liked all people. He would greet the road crews and construction people just like he had knew them all his life.
The police were looking for my drug addict sister. My sister would never stay at my home (she is a drug addict). I hate drugs and what they do to people. The policeman stuck himself with a needle while looking under the dash of my sisterâ??s car. Most of my family is drug addicts so they like to stay on the roads, get lots of tattoos, and take, buy and sell drugs. I don't mess with drugs. I will never understand the legal system. Why would the police let my sister go after he got stuck with a needle?
Anyway I was so mad I couldn't see straight so I gave the police officers an *ss chewing. If they want to harass me on the streets that is fine but they better have a darn good reason to come into my home and wake me up with their guns pointed at me.
The cop that was hiding behind the car with his gun pointed at me is a pilot in the Air Force or Air Force reserve and thinks he is a hot shot. I see his picture in the paper every time he gets another award. I was in the military but I never brag about what rank I made or the awards our unit received. Our crew received the Meritorious Unit Accommodation Award and a lot of awards but we earned them as a team. No one on our team was a hot shot like the police officer.
I think most people see me as a wimp because I don't fight. If I fight I usually get carried away and play for keeps so I avoid fights at all costs. The only way I will fight is if a person lays hands on me and that is where I draw the line. I called the sheriff to complain and he hung up the phone on me. That let me know what kind of people I was dealing with. They were just harassing me and they knew my sister was not at my home.
The police officer that got stuck with a needle did have reason to be worried. My sister and all drug addicts that I know have sex with as many partners as possible. They call it a good sex life. I could have told them my sister has hepatitis and who knows what. I also know so may drug addicts that have AIDS, herpes, and hepatitis.

I think there should be a law regarding people's homes. A man's home if as far as he can run so police should not harass people at their homes. Most people where I live spend 10 hours a day gossiping. After the gossip goes through a few people it comes out totally different than the truth. The police should never act on gossip but they do. I can start any rumor that I want and by the time it spreads, people accept the rumor as fact when all it is is gossip.

Im not going to touch this incident with a ten foot pole. All I am going to say is since none of you work in law enforcement you really dont have a clue what you are talking about and subsequently have no legs to stand on. Officers do not and cannot just enter any home at will. They must have permission granted them by a legal entity (read judge). Officers in most areas it is true have a certain amount of tickets to issue on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, but honestly - gimme a break. Do any of you realize how much shiitty driving they ignore?? Kermit- you going 18 over is well lets face it - breaking the law. You complain about it, well if you dont think the speed limit is adequet for the road you were traveling on - then take it up with the municipality you were in. I will not speculate the "motives" of the officer for pulling you over except to say that even if you were going 1mph over technically he could have issued you a citation. As for your whole "blinded me with his spot light" - oh cry me a river- I know how bright they are - the cops do that to me as a joke when Im leaving dispatch - they arnt THAT hard to not look into!! Not only does this show some obvious stupidity on your part - (its not that hard to look at your toes) but your argument is about as asinine as I have heard since- wait - I got off work this morning at about 1:30. You think that a lot doesnt go on where you live - well to me that shows that the police in your area are doing their job. I can assure you that a LOT more goes on that you will ever realize unless you go on a ride-along or something similar. Ill give you an example - last night in my city while I am at work we had simultaniously 3 domestic assaults (all three ended up in the hospital), an older gentleman died in his home, two foot chases with minors fleeing with drugs involved, and several other calls of high importance. We then get a bunch of calls from one young man who thinks that the party going on in his apt complex is too loud and wants an officer to go break it up. LOW PRIORITY! - yet he called every 10 min and got more and more angry. He finally asked to speak with a sarge to lodge a citizen complaint. (Every person has a right to do this BTW) while I am not party to the end of this call I can assure you that everytime you make a complaint it is recorded and goes on the officers record. You calling to compain about this officer is like the ACLU sueing you over your speeding for a violation of their civil rights- ASININE! I realize you dont have a lot of respect for police officers, but remember this before you criticise too harshly - not only are police officers some of the worst paying jobs in america, they also have one of the most life threatening job descriptions. While you may not have threatened the officers life during your traffic aprehension I am willing to bet that the officer was in danger of losing life or limb at least once during that week as a minimum. Wake up and realize that without these guys you would not have the rights you do today. Realize that they do more for you than you will ever know and all the thanks they get is you promising to never help them again. They are hated because they wear a badge, but like you and me thay are people just trying to get home to their loved ones each day. If you cant tell it really bothers me that people have your type of attitude, you think that everything is guarenteed to you and that you have "you rights" - well having lived in other countries where you dont have all these rights let me tell you personally to OWN UP TO WHAT YOU DID AND ACCEPT FULL AND COMPLETE RESPONSABILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS!!!! Try living in a country where just because you look different the "cops" can shoot you and leave you in the street to rot and no ones will intervene for fear of dying as well. How about instead of bitching and moaning you go out and try to improve your comunity instead of pulling down its peace officers for your personal amusment! ps- if you see an officer down and you dont stop to fight under the good-samaritan law you are an accesory and can be charged with the assault as well. If the officer dies you could go to jail for manslaughter. think about that before you say you wont help him.

Maybe if your car wasn't red and yellow, you wouldn't have been pulled over? Also, would you like some cheese with that whine?

I once got a visual warning for 75 in a 55 while driving for Pepsi in a rental truck (DOT cop flashed his lights and made a "slow down" gesture.)
